Laura Erickson-Schroth, MD, MA is a New York City-based psychiatrist working in the emergency room and at Hetrick-Martin Institute. She is the editor of Trans Bodies, Trans Selves, a resource guide written by and for transgender people, and co-author of "You're in the Wrong Bathroom!" and Gender: What Everyone Needs to Know.


She is a former board member of the Association of LGBTQ Psychiatrists and GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBT Equality. She has appeared on NPR's Fresh Air and On Point, and was named to OUT Magazine's OUT 100 in 2014.


Laura graduated from Hunter College High School, Middlebury College, Dartmouth Medical School, New York University Psychiatry Residency, Columbia University Public Psychiatry Fellowship, and Mount Sinai Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship.
